To optimise and digitise the payroll of artists and art workers, Starfisk developed a powerful solution on behalf of the various companies Projectpro, PayPro Services and RoAn art consulting. ProActor is a software platform that not only provides payroll calculations but also establishes links with various other parties. All this to reduce the administrative burden for both employers and artists.

What is ProActor?

ProActor is a platform developed on the one hand for administrators, but also for art workers, artists and cultural organisations. ProActor provides a simple and user-friendly interface in which jobs can be entered. Other functionalities ensure that administrative obligations are fulfilled automatically. This greatly reduces the workload.

Entering jobs and calculating wages

Everything starts with the entry of a job. Starfisk has developed a simple wizard that guides you step by step through job entry.
You can enter jobs as an artist, cultural institution or employer. These jobs provide an automatic wage calculation. As a result, the artist knows what his/her salary will be and all the necessary administration is taken care of. The cost price is also immediately clear to the cultural house, NPO, company or organisation.
Moreover, sector-specific elements such as pay scales, copyrights, meal allowances and the like were taken into account when developing the platform. These ensure correct wage calculations.

Contracts and C4s

Starfisk set up a simple PDF upload, where templates for contracts can be uploaded. So when elements change, the customer is able to modify these contracts themselves.
Moreover, we ensured that contracts are generated automatically. Thus, the employer is always in order for the employee on time. The content of the contract is also automatically adapted to the template present for that type of job.
We used a similar system for formatting C4 documents. When a job is closed, the C4 for the artist is also generated automatically. Another manual intervention for the employer that falls away.

Automatic link with Dimona

One of the most important administrative obligations under Belgian labour law is the timely registration of employment. In the artwork sector, temporary employment is very common, so it is a big job to keep track of these registrations, changes and cancellations. ProActor offers the solution here too.
Starfisk provided a link that acts as an engine to Dimona. Every job entry automatically makes a call to the Dimona API and triggers a declaration. We also capture changes and cancellations and check them against the existing declarations.
For the administrators, we created a clear dashboard where the Dimona status of each job can be monitored.

Link with social secretariat

Starfisk also seamlessly integrated the ProActor platform with the social secretariat solution of Projectpro, Paypro and RoAn art consulting. This allows personnel administration and payroll processing to flow and also increases efficiency.

Link with invoicing programme

We also provided a link to an invoicing programme. This way, invoices can also be easily generated from the application.

Advantages of using ProActor

As an art worker, there is a huge simplification of your administration. Everything is in one central place and you can consult it at any time. This leaves you with more time for creative projects and less to worry about paperwork.
For employers and administrators, there are several big advantages when you use ProActor.

  • Major time savings through increased efficiency thanks to all the automatic links
  • Where the number of human errors decreases, accuracy increases . And this ensures that, as an employer, you no longer have to worry about all the legal obligations.
  • Thanks to the integrations with, for instance, the social secretariat, this cooperation also runs a lot faster.

And of course, let’s not forget the user-friendly website and secure application.

In short, Starfisk developed ProActor as an innovative solution for payroll administration in the artistic and creative sector.
